Brooklyn Amrich, Strasburg, Sprints
The junior placed fifth in the 400-meter run at the Group 2A state meet with a time of 1:01.55. It was a personal record and she led the area in the event for the Rams.
Rachel Funkhouser, Strasburg, Throws
The junior placed second in the discus at the Group 2A state meet with a throw of 114-06. Funkhouser won the Region 2A East title in the discus and had the top throw in the area.
Hayley Gibson, Stonewall Jackson, Middle distance
The junior placed fifth in the 800 at the Group 2A state meet with a time of 2:24.70. It was also a personal record for Gibson, who led the area in the event.
Miley Hupp, Strasburg, Throws
The junior placed ninth in the Group 2A state meet in the discus, just missing all-state by a spot. Hupp threw a 99-05 at the meet. She was one of three Rams in the top nine in the discus.
Hannah Keane, Strasburg, Throws
The senior placed fourth in the Group 2A state meet in the discus with a throw of 105-05. Keane also finished third in the Region 2A East meet. Her personal record of 110-02 was second in the area.
Lexi Keller, Central, Jumps
The junior finished tied for 14th in the high jump at the Group 3A state meet at Harrisonburg High School. Her jump was a 4-08. She was third in the area in the 800 this season and first in high jump.
Davina Lane, Sherando, Hurdles/Sprints
Sophomore was a three-time all-state performer in Group 4A state meet, finishing fifth in 300 hurdles and sixth in the 100 hurdles and the 200. She led the area in all three events as well.
Diamond Maldonado, Warren County, Jumps
Maldonado finished eighth in the Group 3A state meet in the long jump with a leap of 15-7.75. Maldonado also led the area in the long jump with a PR of 16-07.00.
Olivia McGill, Skyline, Sprints
The freshman finished second in the 100 in the Group 3A state meet in a time of 12.17, just .03 seconds from first place. McGill led the area in the 100 and was second in the 200.
Angela Misquith, Stonewall Jackson, Hurdles
The sophomore finished ninth in the 300 hurdles at the Group 2A state meet at Radford University. Misquith ran a personal-best 50.66 in the second of three heats.
Rachel Tischler, Strasburg, Distance
The senior was all-state in two events in the Group 2A state meet. She finished second in the 3,200 with a time of 11:33.73, and was third in the 1,600 with a time of 5:33.33.
Kila Watson, Central, Throws
Watson finished ninth in the Group 3A state meet in the discus with a throw of 110-00. It was also a PR for Watson, placing her third in the area in the event. She also led the area in the shot put.
